About Us

About SCHUELLER HOUSE.

SCHUELLER HOUSE was founded in 1993 to reach out to non-Jews who wish to learn about Torah and to interact with the Jewish community in a pro-halakhic manner. The possibilities for relating to the Jewish community in a positive manner range from minimally observing the noahide commandments, studying the noahide commandments in more detail, taking on additional mitzvot permitted to non-Jews, providing material support to the Jewish community, becoming a Netzarim geir, or converting to Judaism. Our early efforts have been focused on distributing the materials of Khiylat Ha-Netzarim, an Orthodox Jewish sect headquartered in Ra'anana, Israel. (Note that the Ra'anana group should not to be confused with messianic and proto-Christian groups that use the same or similar name.)  We have published one noahide resource at this point, The Seven Colors of the Rainbow, and are interested in publishing more.

About me...

For now, Schueller House is a one-person operation. Me, with occasional help from my wife. My name is Kenneth Guentert. I was born and raised a Roman Catholic, attended seminary for six years, graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1970, and was a prominent Catholic journalist for many years. I trace my interest in Judaism to a University of Iowa Ph.D. candidate who had studied under Orthodox rabbis and introduced me to the concept of Torah. Throughout the 1980s, I struggled to integrate Christianity and Judaism. This strategy seemed to work for a while. However, the more I studied, the more it became clear that Christianity and Judaism were two separate religions and that I would have to choose between them. Encouraged by Yirmeyahu Ben-David, leader of the restored Netzarim, I left the church in mid-1991 and began worshipping at a nearby Orthodox synagogue. I've been there ever since.

While I am oriented exclusively to the Jewish holidays and mitzvot, I continue to have good relationships with non-Jews. I have to. My wife remains a practicing Catholic (don't try this at home!) and many of my colleagues are practicing Christians.

In addition to working on Schueller House, I am president of The Publishing Pro, LLC (formerly Graphics West), whose mission is to make professional publishing accessible and enjoyable to everyone.  I write several blogs, including Geir NotesPublishing Pro, and Coyote Crunch, the last being a political blog. I am president of Downtown Toastmasters in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where my wife and I make our home.
